
Mexico family visa requirements and information
Step 1: Prepare your documents:
There is two type of visa: NUT holder and without NUT holder.
NUT Holder:
Requirements for spouse:
- Original valid passport and a clear photocopy of the first and last page (vertical).
- Proof of legal stay (Visa copy and entry stamp, work permits, residency card) in case the applicant holds another nationality.
- Application form duly filled (printed in one page, double sided).
- One recent passport-sized photograph (4.5 CM X 3.5 CM), white background, without glasses. Face should cover 80%.
- Original and photocopy of marriage certificate dully apostilled/Legalized (all the name of the all applicants must reflect complete name as shown in passport).
- In case of spouse reunion with a Mexican citizen, original Mexican marriage certificate.
- Photocopy of the Temporary/Permanent Resident Card of the main applicant.
- Photocopy of the passport of the main applicant the first and last page (vertical).
- Copy of the authorization (NUT) from the National Immigration Institute (INAMI).
- Visa fee ($51 US Dollars payable in local current exchange rate).
Requirements for children:
- Original valid passport and a clear photocopy of the first and last page (vertical).

- Photocopy of the Temporary/Permanent Resident Card of the main applicant.
- Copy of the authorization from the National Immigration Institute (INAMI).
- Visa fee ($51 US Dollars payable in local current exchange rate).
Requirements for parents:
- Original valid passport and a clear photocopy of the first and last page (vertical).

Without NUT Holder:
The main applicant is the person who already holds a Mexican Temporary/Permanent Resident Card. The Mexican resident card holder must accompany the dependants during the visa application procedure.
::IMPORTANT:: If the main applicant is already in Mexico, he/she must submit the application before the National Immigration Institute (INAMI) in Mexico. Please contact the local INAMI office for more details www.inm.gob.mx
Requirements for spouse:
- Original valid passport (for at least six months) and a clear photocopy of the first and last page (vertical).
- Proof of legal stay in India (Visa copy and entry stamp) in case the applicant holds another nationality
- Application form duly filled (printed in one page, double sided).
- One recent passport-sized photograph (4.5 CM X 3.5 CM), white background, without glasses. Face should cover 80%.
- Original and photocopy of marriage certificate dully apostilled. (All names must match as per passport details)
- Original and photocopy of the Mexican resident card of the main applicant. (Both sides in a single page)
- Photocopy of the passport of the Mexican resident card holder.
- Appointment letter of the main applicant.
- Original salary slips of the Mexican resident card holder (last 6 months) stamped and signed from Mexico with a copy of the government issued ID (photo and signature) of the signatory.
- Mexican resident card holder’s original (stamped and signed) bank statement or pass book (last 12 months) from Mexico. No exceptions.
- Mexican resident card holder’s Income Tax Return (ITR) or Form 16 (1 year).
- Visa fee ($51 US Dollars payable in local current exchange rate).
Requirements for children:
- Original valid passport (at least six months) and a clear photocopy of the first and last page (vertical).
- Proof of legal stay in India (Visa copy and entry stamp) in case the applicant holds another nationality
- Application form duly filled (printed in one page, double sided).
- One recent passport-sized photograph (4.5 CM X 3.5 CM), white background, without glasses. Face should cover 80%.
- Original and photocopy of the birth certificate dully apostilled. (All names must match as per passport details)
- Original parent’s passport and photocopy of the first and last page.
- Original and photocopy of the Mexican resident card of the main applicant.
- Appointment letter of the main applicant.

Step 2: Book an appointment through Citas:
ALL appointments must be booked ONLY through citas website.
- The Embassy does NOT book/grant appointments.
Once you booked your appointment, this Consular Section cannot change it, cancel it, reschedule it, or modify it in any way.
Step 3: Pay visa application fee:
All visa applications submitted to the Embassy of Mexico will cost $53.00 USD payable in current exchange rate.
- Be sure to pay exact amount ONLY. Payment is non-refundable and does not guarantee that the visa application will be approved.
- DO NOT PAY visa fee before securing an appointment. Visa fee must be paid prior to the submission of the documents and after scheduling an appointment.
Step 4: Attend your appointment:
- Bring all your documents and payment receipt.
- Appointment letter you must carry with you the day of your appointment.
- On that date, we will take a photograph and fingerprints, and an interview will be conducted as to confirm the purpose of the trip.
- All the documents should be in one folder.
- Bring all the required stationary with you (pencil, pen, glue stick etc.)
- Be informed that if any document is missing or you are unable to provide it at the time of document submission, you will have to take a new appointment using the Citas site.
- To avoid inconvenience, please arrive 15 minutes before your appointment time.
Step 5: Collect your passport:
If your application is approved,
- You have to collect your passport in person or it can also be collected by another individual with an original letter of authorization and ID copy of the authorized person.
- Collection timings are Monday to Friday from 15:00 to 15:30. Please plan accordingly.
